Digitizing those singles (14) - The Boss
+ In 1984, probably my sister, bought two singles, maybe the same day in the same shop. Of course, of the same guy. There were two songs from the born in the usa album. These two songs on the A-side were such a huge success for Bruce!. This is the first single, cover me.

* Cover me. Incredibly, this song was selected by ¿? as a single instead of other tremendous songs there, glory days for instance, or i'm on fire or.. what a difficult thing, the whole album is full of wind!. But, cover me, you know, it had kinda this "disco" sound, we springsteen purists did not like it too much.

* Jersey girl. A Tom Waits' song Bruce gave the necessary human touch to reach all the hearts around, in Jersey or faraway from there.

* The second single, although it came out first, has Bruce's hymn dancing in the dark. We watched the video at that time and wished our girlfriend was the girl dancing with Bruce in the dark, ourselves being Bruce.

* The B-side had this rocker, pink cadillac.

+ Ok, get a suntan (or not) and drop me a comment.
+ Que te vayas a tomar el sol ( o no) y que me comentes algo.
+ Si quieres.
* If you are in the mood.

+ The beginning of a rock blues group.
+ Some guys I know are trying to become a rock group. They are already settled with wife and children, they don't even smoke (nothing) and they want to be rock stars!. We'll see.

+ They started as three guitars, but the third day one of them switched his old Fender Telecaster for an Academic bass (160 €). They are supposed to have a drummer, but at the moment he is preparing final terms, so he'll join in mid july.

+ It's tremendous when you see them with hundreds of tablatures, now even with bass tablatures.

+ I will tell you of their adventures here. For now, this is kind of what they will like to play. Blues.

* Little wing - Metallica.

* Red house - Buddy Guy.

* Little wing - Paolo Zardo (jazz version): by Paolo Zardo and friends.

Champagne, spanish power pop, de primera
+ From Cadiz, exactly, South to the South. They have an incredible album, READY, STEADY, GO!, available for just a mere 5 € at rock indiana.

+ They are so kind as to give us only one song free. I tell you guys, if you would add another mp3, Caroline for instance, I bet you you would sell a couple more records, at least!.

* Tiny spark.

+ Sorry, no more mp3 for the moment.

The Believers, straight to the Top!
+ Ok, so if you don't know them, get to know them immediately!

+ The Believers are a duo (Cynthia Frazzini and Craig Aspen). But don't expect those boy answers girl songs ... instead what you have here (crashyertown,2005) is music from a complete group, full of rock and country, and soul and early rock and roll.

* Listen to these 1 minute mp3:

* Crash your town.

* Get started.

* Railroad Spikes And Shotgun Shells.

+ You can also listen to all of the songs here and here.

+ Just remember, listening is believing! (ok, it's a bad joke, he, he...).

Blueskies, mp3 lifeguards and love songs.
+ I had a nice commentary that took me to blueskies, nicely posted mp3s and commentaries. And heard Doug Sahm's cry.

+ From the list of blueskies' links, I moved to last night an mp3 saved my wife (great name!), and read about the history of a wonderful Squeeze song. Then, I started to google...

+ Assault & Flattery, the musical theater company at the University of Texas School of Law, had this a-capella version of squeeze's tempted, great music but with a different lyric.

* If you want to hear their other covers, please press here. There's a nice i want you back.

+ But, for a-capella music, you have to try, in case you don't know, The Langley Schools Music Project.

+ They're so many interesting blogs out there!

Rockabilly from Sunny California
+ Tough times, when rockabilly is no longer cool!. Let's hope that, similarly as it happened to beatlesque-pop, it returns someday to where it should be.

+ In the meantime, Cadillac Angels maintain the flame. For more than 10 years now.

* Listen to the big guitar show, from the pages at Cracked Piston Recordings.

* I walk alone.

* Big bad cadillac.

+ Many more songs in their pages!.

+ Long live to rock and roll!

The Five Hundreds - next pop-rock cult band
+ I was listening to firecracker, and while visiting their pages, found out about The 500's. Infectious pop-rock, of the highest quality.

+ Listen to these songs below and then visit them to listen to 4 more:

* Tight rope high.

* Poor little thing.

+ Aren't they great?.

Rich Brown & The Hipwaders - Unsigned Pop Stars
+ If you want to listen to pop music, please click below:

* Can't remember you.

* Too late.

* Lies, lies, lies.

+ Great, yes?.

+ Visit them here.

John Hiatt runs again
+ New album for the man!, Master of disaster finds John full of soul, full of great songs and words. Once you're there, please click on media. You have a pair of pages full of music!

+ You can also find some time to listen to some John's tunes:

* My baby blue (rm).

* Have a little faith in me (rm).

* the river knows your name (rm).

* rm: (un)real media (por si acaso dudabas del significado de rm).

Digitizing those singles (13) - The Buggles
+ Although their biggest hit was video killed the radio star (you know what they say: the first video ever played in MTV), the single I have for you today is a different one.

* In 1981, they released i am a camera. Here you can see the cover and some more info.

+ The b side contained fade away, with reminescenses from Buddy Holly and a completely different sound to that Trevorn Horn crafted.

Digitizing those singles (12) - C S N & Y

* Woodstock.

* Everybody I love you.

+ Seguro que conoces la letra, pero una ayudita nunca viene mal:

I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road and I asked him
"Where are you going"
This he told me I'm going on down to Yasgurs farm
Gonna join in a rock and roll band
I'm gonna camp out on the land and try 'n' get my
soul free
We are stardust, we are golden
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden
Caught in the devil's bargain
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.
Then can I walk beside
I have come here to lose the smog
And feel to be a cog in something twining
Maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe it's the time of man
I don't know who I am
But life is for learning,
By the time we got to Woodstock
We were half a million strong
And everywhere was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the farmers riding shotgun in the sky
Turning into butterflies above our nation.

+ Viejos tiempos!

Digitizing those singles (11) - David Bowie
+ In 1982, David Bowie heard a young blues guitarist at the Montreux Jazz Festival and recruites him to play in his new album. It was the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan. It was time!, three years without a record is too much for Bowie.

+ Teaming up with producer Nile Rodgers, he delivers a perfect record, Let's Dance, in 1983. You'll probably remember the delicious china girl.

* But the single in question has:
-----A side: let's dance.
-----B side: cat people.

+ Do you recognize Stevie's guitar?

+ That was a change, David!.

Bill Mallonee vigila tu amor!
+ Almost a year ago, visiting paste music, we discovered Bill Mallonee & Vigilantes of Love. They had wonderful songs there, in fact, they're still there!.

+ Now, I am pleased to know that the man has a solo album, released some months ago, that I am listening to avidly (friendly fire). You know, sure we'll find many sounds that remember us of this artist or that other. I tell ya', Bill Mallonee is a true artist. Ok, so you want some labels so you know what we are talkin' bout. Ok, i'll give 'em to ya. Folk-roots-rock!.

* But, first, listen to with any luck at all.

* or, no longer bound.

+ Ok, I have also found a couple of Bill's songs from his album Perfumed Letter (2003):

* She's so liquid.

* Life on other planets.

+ Btw, he's from Athens, GA. Homeplace for B-52's, REM...

Digitizing those singles (10) - The Beatles' last
* In 1970, The Beatles released the last single:

---------------A side: let it be.
--------------B side: you know my name (look up the number).

Digitizing those singles (9) - The Dickies
+ So you're so sad because you could not go to see the Boss!. Don't worry baby, got a bunch of songs today they'll put you rockin' and rollin'.

+ Start listening to this silent night. Un villancico para las próximas navidades!.

+ The Dickies were american punkies, from sunny California. They heard what was going on in London and decided to add their point of view.

* Got this red 7" vinyl with two impressive and fast songs:
--------- A side, fan mail.
----------B side, (I'm stuck in a pagoda with) Tricia Toyota.

+ Looks as if they were still playing after all these years!.

+ That was in 1979.
