Diario de un Profesor de Inglés
Para mis alumnos y visitantes. Ayuda para el autoaprendizaje de inglés.
Acerca de
My name: Paco Bazaga Calderón. I am a teacher of English at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Madrid (Jesús Maestro).

Business English together with my interest in the Internet and computers determines the birth of this blog weBLOG.

I would like to try the chances of bringing the Internet into my lessons as a first step towards the promotion of autonomous learning of English among my pupils and the visitors here.

Also, I think this tool may well accompany my pupils in their weekly lessons as a walking stick in the mountains. In it they will find support, ideas, additional contents, etc. to the lessons.

Though it is my pupils and my lessons that I usually bear in mind when writing here, visitors are also welcome to join in and send any comments they find suitable.

Thanks in advance to all of them for their interest in this site.

9 - 2 - 07 LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS
Our first lesson deals with how businesses are organized and how they perform. Our main interest for now is to be able to describe companies according to their nature, sector where they operate, their legal status, size, etc.

This field is not easy and requieres some previous reading work. Let me just refer to the following article:

Business organizations is an area of law that covers the broad array of rules governing the formation and operation of different kinds of entities by which individuals can organize to do business. The term is also used to describe the entities themselves. A variety of other terms are used fairly interchangeably to describe this area, including or business associations, business forms, and business entities. Reference to a "business" entity usually (though not always) indicates that entity's status as for-profit, as opposed to non-profit.

Now, try to sketch out the pros and cons of each kind of business. Send me your comments! They will be shared by everybody in the group.

Enjoy your weekend!

6 - 2 - 07 STARTING OVER
A new edition of the Business English course at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas is about to start. In fact we'll be meeting for the first time on the 8-2-07 at 18.00 h.

To begin with I'd like...
1. you to get acquainted with this blog: it will be accompanying your days and guiding your autonomous work along the course.

If you examine it carefully you will see it contains 3 sections: daily or weekly postings, recommended links, and a monthly archive compilation of past postings. See them in more detail.

Please attach any comments you find suitable by clicking on the "comments" link below. I'll be reading them and responding / answering to all your enquiries and requests.

2. I'd also like you to read the following file containing a detailed description of the course you have just joined:
Programa_actualizado_de_businessenglish0506.pdf

On the first day we'll be dealing with it and getting to know one another.

Welcome on board!

Best wishes
