Diario de un Profesor de Inglés
Para mis alumnos y visitantes. Ayuda para el autoaprendizaje de inglés.
Acerca de
My name: Paco Bazaga Calderón. I am a teacher of English at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Madrid (Jesús Maestro).

Business English together with my interest in the Internet and computers determines the birth of this blog weBLOG.

I would like to try the chances of bringing the Internet into my lessons as a first step towards the promotion of autonomous learning of English among my pupils and the visitors here.

Also, I think this tool may well accompany my pupils in their weekly lessons as a walking stick in the mountains. In it they will find support, ideas, additional contents, etc. to the lessons.

Though it is my pupils and my lessons that I usually bear in mind when writing here, visitors are also welcome to join in and send any comments they find suitable.

Thanks in advance to all of them for their interest in this site.

So, I decided to forward evaluation.

These are the results:

Out of 80 items, the first score is the entry test, the second is the end- of- course score.

Emma B.M. 45 - 53
Patricia E.H. 46 - 48
Daniel G.-R. G. 49 - 51
Jacinto A. L.N. 56 - 61
María V. V. 62 - 65

As you can see, there is always some improvement. Even if this test is just a reference to qualify someone's skills: directly, reading. Quite indirectly, the other skills.

The competences of vocabulary and grammar are also directly present in the evaluation.

I think you are right to feel optimistic, as progress at this stage is normally slow but solid. To speed it up there must be some more involvement in extensive reading activities together with regular practice of the other skills, which you should provide for at work, in your leisure and through the media: radio, TV, and -very effectively- on the internet.

Let me know about how things are getting along!

Best wishes,

Hola Paco,
No sabía bien donde escribirte y he utilizado este último post, lo siento, sé que no es lo más adecuado. Hice el examen para el curso de inglés comercial, pero no estoy admitida, no sé muy bien si es que el nivel era muy alto o que lo hice mal, porque cuando salí de la prueba, a pesar de que no me pareció fácil, salí contenta. ¿puedo saber el resultado de mi examen y cuantos nos presentamos?
Muchas gracias,
Silvia
