Do you know this Newton`s story?
The history of science is full of surprising chapters. Let me tell you some events wich surrounded the publication of the well know Newton`s Principia.
Around 1683, Halley, an english astronomer who later will be famous for discovering a comet wich he named, while he was having dinner with two friends he put across the matter of why the eliptic shape of planets around the Sun, something already known but not explained. The three friends decided to bet forty shillings on the first who find a solution for the matter.

Next year, Halley went to Cambridge, to met a professor famous for his irregular life and frequent absent-mindedness. The wise man had a lot knowledge about mathematics, he even made up a differential calculus because he was annoyed with the limitations of maths. However, inventions like that never achieved to be published.
When they were a bit of time together, Halley asked Isaac if he knew how were the orbits that planets traced around the Sun. Immediately the professor answered that they were eliptic shaped. Now, Halley asked again if he knew the reason. And Newton answered: "of course, because I`ve calculated it".
Then the astronomer asked him for those calculations but the laboratory was so messy that Newton needed to remake the theory.
Amazing!. It is like someone found the cure of cancer and lose it.

Bueno P.L. sólo el espíritu navideño ha conseguido que alguien te haga los deberes. Sólo por esta vez. Por si además a tu profe de inglés le molan las mates te pongo una formulilla bastante aparente.
