Sonnetdaily, in English
El Albert Soria, cuando vio el soneto en italiano y supo que yo estaba en un curso de inglés -el enésimo, pero prometo que será el último- me retó a que hiciera un soneto emulando a Shakespeare. Primero se me hizo imposible, pero poco a poco se abrio paso in my mind este soneto, que avergonzará a los poetas, pero que satisface -o al menos cubre mal que bien- la apuesta.
To learn English is nowadays, I think
the most important thing you have to do.
It' s vital, it can be crucial for you
more than food, more than drugs, more than a drink.
Don't worry if your brain's begins to sink *
or you can't understand the TV, too.
It doesn't matter. Tell yourself "it's true,
English - easy", repeat, without a wink. *
And so you spend in English years and ages,
lots of money, your savings, your mortgages, *
and all you can speak is, at last, OK.
English is said the best you can invest:
so, I will buy a College, and I'll rest.
There are billions of people glad to pay!!
